Color Me Cleveland

The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, a nonprofit visual arts organization dedicated to preserving the art and art history of Ohio and its artists, invites all interested local artists to participate this summer in our 2010 fundraising event, Color Me Cleveland.  Scheduled to take place starting Saturday, August 7, 2010, it will be a city-wide festival of plein-aire art, the third of its kind in an annual fundraising series held by the AAWR.  Select artists will be arranged throughout various parks and public spaces to produce art while the public looks on.  This event celebrates both local artists and Cleveland!

You are invited to paint, sculpt, draw, photograph, and otherwise perform on the Plein-aire Days of Saturday, August 7, 2010, and Sunday, August 8, 2010.  Following these two days of creating, artists will then bring their work to the AAWR gallery space “wet” to be installed for a week long exhibition, culminating in a live auction on Saturday, August 21, 2010.  We request that work be no larger than 40 inches.

To support AAWR’s mission of preserving the works of Ohio artists and our region’s visual artistic heritage, the Archives will receive a portion of the proceeds from all sales.  Participating in this event is a great opportunity to show case your work and become further involved in the Cleveland community.  To thank you for your participation, the AAWR will be offering benefits which include:

§  The opportunity to exhibit and sell artwork

§  Invitations to special events, gallery talks, and exhibition openings

§  10% discount on selected merchandise and discounts on workshops, lectures, and demonstrations

§  Media and publicity reviews and promotions

§  Follow up exhibition and reception at the Cleveland City Hall for Color Me Cleveland artwork

§  One-day work-shop/showing event at the AAWR during 2011for participants, TBA

§  Opportunities to network, share ideas, and enjoy support from other art enthusiasts
