Artists : Phyllis Sloane Class of 1999

Phyllis Sloane is an extremely versatile artist who paints in acrylic, egg tempera, and watercolor. She has also explored an astonishing variety of graphic media, including silkscreen, lithography, etching monotype, cork prints, and various methods of electrostatic copier/heat transfer printing. Resulting partly from her early training in industrial design, she displays superior drawing skills and a remarkable facility at organizing clear, well-articulated compositions in all media. Sloane's extensive range of subject matter includes landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and genre scene.

Our programming is made possible with the support of the Davis Art Foundation, the Ohio Arts Council, the John P. Murphy Foundation, the Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation, the George Gund Foundation, Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, and the Chrysler Foundation.
